Dear all my friends,
Today is 1st day of 2008 and we decided to start a blog to record down our daily happenings in Australia. Do give us your comments if you have anything to say to us.
Today started with us having our breakfast early in the morning. My three older children prepared an egg for me as I am the one to get up the latest(8.15am). After that, we decided to go to the Australian Museum. We went to the petrol station first before driving 20 mins to the city. We paid $20 for 15 litres of unleaded petrol. Petrol here considered quite cheap. The admission cost us only $27 but we spent an equal amount at the snack bar. The exhibits were interesting and informative and we spent the whole afternoon there before going for our lunch/dinner at 5pm. We had Thai food - tom yam soup, green curry and Thai noodles. Guess what the meal only cost us $37.
Btw how do all of you celebrate the New Year's Eve? We did not join the crowd so we stay at home to watch the live telecast. The fireworks were spectacular. Guess what, my neighbours here love fireworks and they have been giving us free firework display since Christmas. The displays were just as great. They simply "Bo Chap" even though police mentioned in news that they would take action against anyone caught playing with the fireworks. I wondered if the fireworks were very cheap here?
Life s been great so far. Children have started to help out in household chores and we actually spent more time interacting with them. In Singapore, I never really have time for them as I seemed to be always busy. Anyway, we have adapted well here. The weather is rather hot out in the open but in the house, it's cooling. Btw I really become very environmentally friendly by doing my recycling bits everyday. Rubbish truck only comes every Thursday and I only have 1 recyling bin and 1 rubbish bin for my week's rubbish. Will take photos to show all of you k
That's all for today. We are going to bed zzzzzz.........
